Final Year Project

(In)Tangible

My sculptures explore geometric abstraction with the unintentional idea of generating two-dimensional forms, by folding paper and card to later reconstruct into three dimensional cardboard forms. My work investigates the relationship between adding colour to blandly colour materials through digital editing, and the dual nature of a single work of art that can coexist as two, yet is transformed back into existing as one art piece through installation. The concept of using light as a medium to display colour on the monochromatic forms, through a colour- changing projection, creates a sense of the colours’ intangibility, which contrasts with the sculpture’s materiality.
