I am an ambitious individual specialising in branding and advertising. I have a passion for public relations, copywriting and social media and I love coming up with unique ideas which incorporate pop culture into my projects.

Final Project

Chickensh*t Crafts: Arts & Crafts Club for all Abilities

Designed as a fun way to eliminate competition and encourage people of all abilities to join in as a way to make friends, have fun and give crafting a go. The club aims to target young adults who are new to the area, as a way to help combat loneliness and mental health issues across the capital, encouraging fresh connections.

How the Club Works

The club is advertised on the iconic double-decker buses and a variety of billboards across the city, prompting the public to visit the Chickensh*t Crafts website. On the website users can then discover what’s on, find out more and sign up. Once signed up, users will receive a welcome pack including; a lanyard with conversation prompts, an introduction booklet, welcome post card and some merchandise to further promote the club. In addition to this, users can also join an online forum and meet other crafters and follow the Chickensh*t social media pages to get more involved with the community.

Why?

Londoners are more likely than others in the UK to experience severe forms of loneliness – with 700,000 feeling lonely ‘most’ or ‘all of the time’, despite there being so much to do in the city. Tackling loneliness is challenging, especially with the rise of social media and introducing the option to work from home, as we depend on it to make and keep connections.

To avoid loneliness we need social interactions, a sense of belonging and a support network with access to people we can depend on anytime. Joining any club can be nerve-racking, especially alone. By eliminating competition and making the core values of the club to just have fun and give it a go, it creates a welcoming environment to meet people with the same sense of humour and similar interests who are more likely to gel.

How it’s Made

Starting with hand sketches, I illustrated these chicken characters using Procreate and later developed them using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I also used Adobe Creative Cloud to develop the branding.

The Website

Using Adobe After Effects, I created this short animation to demonstrate how the Chickensh*t Crafts website would look and work.
