Focussing on the theme of the event and the juxtaposition of perception and material. An installation building a story of consequences, challenging the viewer to create their own narrative. Individual items invite detailed inspection – what is seen is not real.
Final Project
My installation displays the remnants of an unknown party. We can only speculate on the wild and ruinous events that took place on this unfortunate night. Viewers are encouraged to walk around the room where discarded and broken items are strewn.
Objects of joy once used and enjoyed, but then destroyed and abandoned. The installation space gives multiple suggestions, and multiple interpretations of the progression of the party.
The pieces appear to be normal, everyday items, but we are deceived by our own senses, what we think are disposable, familiar objects are created in alternative materials.
On closer inspection the viewer begins to observe each piece and the juxtaposition between material and object.
