My artwork emphasises themes of diaspora, discord, and internal comfort (the mind). My art investigates the challenges to be compliant with societal standards while longing for a means of psychological and emotional refuge.
Togetherness & Discord
Togetherness & Discord is inspired by Kafaesque ideology. In the context of this ideology, an individual feels powerless to understand or control social systems over which they cannot posses. The individual’s feelings of powerlessness and uneasiness are further compounded by the lack of communication and lack of understanding of the process. This creates a sense of alienation and discord between the individual and their environment.
