Final Project
Through a combination of digital and analogue photography, I create environmental portraits that capture the materiality of urban environments. Within these I am interested in the relationship of subjects and place and their interconnectivity. My influences include contemporary youth culture and commercial fashion photography.
Key processes from the urban environments are replicated to present the photographs in a space ranging from pasting the photographs in public spaces to presenting them on industrial/found objects in an installation form.
The installation aims to evoke a sense of urban vitality which invites viewers to contemplate the interplay between the physical environment and the individuals who inhabit it, as well as the influence of the surroundings on the formation and representation of youth culture.
